Bosnia and Herzegovina, [Bosnia-Herzegovina], is an independent country in Southeastern Europe located on the Balkan Peninsula. Sarajevo is the capital and largest city. Bosnia-Herzegovina is governed under an international administration as a result of a three year war which accompanied the break-up of Yugoslavia in the early 1990s. Prior to 1992 Bosnia was part of the Yugoslav Federation.
